We feel that it is important for our customers to know that we are concerning ourselves with sustainability issues. Of course the nature of our business, breathing new life into worthy old instruments, is in itself a contribution to this ethic.

Ken's piano shop is behind our house. He doesn't commute to work and although he drives throughout the valley for piano tuning, we own and drive a Prius. We are seriously looking into either wind or solar energy to offset some of our electricity use.
Although this is somewhat light-hearted, we have made donations for years to international wildlife organizations such as WWF, Save the Elephants and others because we are in a business that has contributed to the abuse of ivory. We also support the efforts of The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya.
We hope through this website to connect the artistic community at large to the many unique and interesting piano parts that may lend themselves to a new media piece or recycled art in some way. We are hoping to throw away less. Please feel free to contact us if you might have an use or an interest in piano parts and pieces!
Pam Paulsrud, www.pamelapaulsrud.com, a letter and book artisit in Chicago, makes use of piano parts as she expands her ideas of language and communication.
Bob Long, www.longguitars.com, a maker of handmade guitars, is recycling some of our old piano soundboards as he makes guitar tops.
